Perfect for .... CHOCOLATE LAVA POTS
250g plain chocolate
145g plain flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla extract
Break the chocolate up into small pieces, combine the butter and chocolate over
a pan of hot water in a heatproof bowl. Please ensure that the water doesn’t
touch the bowl.
Prepare 8-10 ramekins by brushing them with butter and dusting it with plain
Once the butter and chocolate has melted remove from the heat. In a separate
bowl, beat the eggs and sugar. Add the vanilla extract and give it a stir. Add
the egg and sugar mixture into the chocolate mixture and stir until combined.
Sift the flour and baking powder and fold it into the above mixture.
Transfer the mixture into the ramekins and refrigerate for at least an hour
before putting in the oven.
Preheat the oven at 180oC/ 160 oC fan/ Gas Mark 4.
Bake the pots for 10-12 minutes.
The centre will be slightly risen but still soft and will have a slight wobble.
Serve with crème fraiche.
A white 'bloom' may appear on this product. This is not harmful and will
disappear on melting.
